What began as a father's passion for serving others has become a lasting legacy of hope, compassion, and community.
In 1998, Dave Moser traveled to Utraula, India, where he fell in love with the people and the mission of Prem Sewa Hospital—a small hospital and Emmanuel School serving families in one of the region's most underserved communities. Witnessing the dedication of local doctors and caregivers forever changed his perspective.
Everything changed again on July 17, 2000, when Dave and Beverly's three-year-old daughter, Valerie Anne Moser, tragically passed away. During a season of unimaginable grief, friends Dan Toohey, Dan Calhoun, and Kevin Morton suggested honoring Valerie's life with a memorial golf tournament. What was originally imagined as a small gathering quickly became something much greater.
That first tournament, held in October 2000, raised more than $8,000—far exceeding expectations. Inspired by the overwhelming generosity of the community, the tournament became an annual tradition dedicated to serving others in Valerie Anne's memory.
Today, more than 27 years later, the Valerie Anne Moser Memorial Golf Tournament has raised over $500,000 to support healthcare, education, and community outreach through Prem Sewa Hospital, Emmanuel School, and local ministries including FROG and InDeed Youth Outreach. Every golfer, sponsor, volunteer, and donor has helped transform a family's loss into a legacy that continues to change lives around the world.
